billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$14.97 billion, or 16.22% of the market's
turnover. There were 655 short-selling stocks. ZIJIN MINING (02899) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.36 billion and HK$692.64 million, or
9.1% and 4.63% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
37.27% and 12.78% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and CCB (00939) registered HK$625 million and HK$616.08 million of
short sales, accounting for 4.17% and 4.11% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 19.2% and 38.37% of respective stock's turnover.
ZIJIN MINING closed down HK$0.24, or 1.47%, to HK$16.08. TENCENT ended down HK$4.2, or
1.1%, to HK$377. MEITUAN-W fell HK$1.8, or 1.54% to HK$115. CCB jumped HK$0.08, or 1.45%,
to HK$5.61.
