[ET Net News Agency, 18 November 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$78.55 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$10.65 billion, or 13.55% of the
market's turnover. There were 640 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$723.18 million and HK$693.99 million,
or 6.79% and 6.52% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 24.04% and 15.31% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$562.24 million and HK$483.76
million of short sales, accounting for 5.28% and 4.54% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 31.56% and 21.21% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$0.8, or 0.92%, to HK$86.4. TENCENT ended up HK$5.4, or 1.35%, to
HK$406.4. XIAOMI-W rose HK$0.55, or 1.96% to HK$28.55. MEITUAN-W jumped HK$0.3, or 0.18%,
to HK$169.9.
