[ET Net News Agency, 24 January 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$88.05 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$11.04 billion, or 12.54% of the
market's turnover. There were 627 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.16 billion and HK$917.48
million, or 10.53% and 8.31% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 18.74% and 17.29% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$731.25 million and HK$626.61 million
of short sales, accounting for 6.62% and 5.68% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 29.08% and 13.34% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.38, or 1.91%, to HK$20.28. XIAOMI-W ended up HK$2, or 5.8%,
to HK$36.5. MEITUAN-W rose HK$0.8, or 0.53% to HK$151.9. TENCENT jumped HK$8.4, or 2.2%,
to HK$389.6.
