[ET Net News Agency, 9 April 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$126.65
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$19.07 billion, or 15.06% of the market's
turnover. There were 767 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.87 billion and HK$1.38 billion, or 9.8%
and 7.25% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 25.49%
and 23.43% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and XIAOMI-W (01810) registered HK$1.27 billion and HK$881.49 million of
short sales, accounting for 6.68% and 4.62% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 22.71% and 40.14% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.08, or 0.31%, to HK$26.12. BABA-W ended down HK$3.5, or
2.77%, to HK$123. TENCENT rose HK$4.5, or 0.89% to HK$512.5. XIAOMI-W declined by HK$1.04,
or 3.17%, to HK$31.72.
