[ET Net News Agency, 17 April 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$126.06
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$20.54 billion, or 16.29% of the market's
turnover. There were 781 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and CSOP HS TECH (03033)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.99 billion and HK$1.86 billion, or
9.69% and 9.08% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
41% and 54.82% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$1.46 billion and HK$929 million of
short sales, accounting for 7.13% and 4.52% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 23.69% and 16.31% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed down HK$1.24, or 1.36%, to HK$89.96. CSOP HS TECH ended down HK$0.09,
or 1.8%, to HK$4.904. TRACKER FUND fell HK$0.34, or 1.27% to HK$26.36. BABA-W declined by
HK$0.2, or 0.15%, to HK$135.6.
