billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$18.27 billion, or 13.03% of the market's
turnover. There were 791 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.34 billion and HK$1.13 billion, or 7.34%
and 6.18% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 22.47%
and 23.86% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.03 billion and HK$845.64 million of
short sales, accounting for 5.61% and 4.63% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 21.8% and 15.25% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$3.3, or 2.46%, to HK$137.3. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.067, or
1.34%, to HK$5.065. XIAOMI-W rose HK$0.76, or 2.16% to HK$35.96. TENCENT jumped HK$0.5, or
0.09%, to HK$559.
