Tai Kwun Contemporary Art Gallery presents 'Stay Tuned: Global Supply', the second chapter of the exhibition series 'Stay Tuned: Art and China after 2008'. Featuring over 40 artists and more than 70 artworks, this exhibition explores the unprecedented economic growth of globalization and China in recent decades and re-examines China's role as the world's production and logistics hub, questioning how it sustains modern life through revealing personal stories, family histories, and untold narratives.
'Global Supply' is organized into four thematic sections that present the soil and water footprints left by human activities, portray the varied faces of labor (including artists as laborers), reveal the invisible networks of collaborative flows, and focus on the transnational flows of people, goods, and idea exchanges that are reshaping the globe.
A series of cross-disciplinary programs will be held during the exhibition, including thematic forums, curator sharing sessions, and the launch of a publication in collaboration with Asia Art Archive.
The two-chapter exhibition series 'Stay Tuned: Art and China after 2008' aims to provide a panoramic view of contemporary art in Greater China that engages with social realities in the 21st century. 'Global Supply' continues the first chapter's human-centered approach, extending the discussion from the digital world to material reality.
