Guo Pei: Art is imaginative

　　Guo Pei (born in 1967) is China's top fashion artist. Her haute couture show series combines international fashion and artistic expression with profound Chinese cultural heritage. Over the past nearly three decades, she has become Fashion and art audiences around the world were stunned. This is the first themed exhibition of Guo Pei's works held in China. It will display her classic show series and early works, highlighting her unique career history that is renowned at home and abroad, as well as the cultural symbols created by her dazzling works. Guo Pei is known for his unique fashion expressions, gorgeous embroidery and superb dressmaking skills. This exhibition, curated by M+ in collaboration with Guo Pei and his studio, presents a series of Guo Pei’s design works exhibited in Hong Kong for the first time, initiating a delicate exchange around visual imagination and craftsmanship with the M+ collection. This exhibition presents Guo Pei's unique artistic style, which intersects themes such as ancient Chinese royal dress and etiquette with European court fashion, architectural aesthetics and the plant world.
