To celebrate Hong Kong Arts Month, Landmark Atrium is proud to present international artist Lauren Tsai's first global installation exhibition, 'My Dream: Our Hill'. From March 25th to April 7th, the Landmark Atrium courtyard will transform into an immersive dream space, bringing a wonderful world where nostalgia and imagination intertwine, and memory and innovation converge, leading visitors of all ages to rediscover their innocence and imagination.
Inspired by classic fantasy stories, Lauren Tsai has created a breathtaking miniature world. Visitors will become giants, exploring intricately crafted artistic scenes from a unique perspective. These scenes awaken forgotten stories from our memories, guiding us to encounter our inner selves.
At the center of this world stands a majestic apple tree, gradually becoming one with its surroundings, with fragments of a town embedded in its trunk. The apple tree symbolizes connection and growth, creating a sense of timelessness and leading visitors into a realm that is both personally meaningful and universally relatable. Scattered around the apple tree are intricate cottages, serving as portals to Lauren's artistic world, showcasing her paintings, sketches, and sculptures. 'My Dream: Our Hill' builds a bridge between the past and the present, awakening memories of our childhood—dreams that may fade but are never truly forgotten.
Lauren Tsai's works explore the nature of memory, identity, and dreams from a unique perspective, and 'My Dream: Our Hill' further extends her creative vision into interactive spaces, not only broadening the horizons of her artistic creations but also breaking free from the constraints of two-dimensional media by transforming her illustrations and animations into a tangible, explorable immersive sensory experience. Lauren Tsai seamlessly blends her imaginative illustrated world with three-dimensional spaces, blurring the boundaries between art and experience.
Lauren Tsai states, 'My Dream: Our Hill is a journey into the inner world—those shaping experiences that may blur with time but always leave a mark on our souls. It reflects the evolving nature of memory, home, and dreams. While this is a very personal piece, I hope that this installation will guide visitors on a path to their own inner worlds, reviving the innocence and imagination that lie within.' Hong Kong and Landmark Atrium were chosen as the stage for the global debut because Lauren Tsai was deeply drawn to the city's historical depth, modern vibe, and artistic innovation.
Mr. Raymond Lee, Director and Head of Leasing and Management of Hongkong Land Commercial Property, commented, 'We are honored to collaborate with Lauren Tsai on this exquisite installation art piece. Landmark Atrium has consistently aimed to bring unique, thought-provoking, and widely accessible art experiences to the community, and this project perfectly embodies our vision.'
Other Exciting Experiences
To offer visitors a deeper immersion into the world of 'My Dream: Our Hill', Landmark Atrium will feature a pop-up store with exclusive limited-edition merchandise. One of the highlights is Lauren Tsai's first crossover collaboration with the Japanese-American fashion brand HUMAN MADE, launching two limited-edition T-shirts that showcase her artistic style. Additionally, the pop-up store will exhibit and sell Lauren Tsai's original artworks, paintings, exclusive brooches, limited-edition displays created with HOW2WORK, and a range of fashion and lifestyle items designed by Lauren herself, allowing visitors to commemorate this artistic journey through these collectibles. On March 27th (Thursday) at 1:30 pm, Lauren Tsai will make a special appearance at the pop-up store for a meet-and-greet session, signing autographs and interacting with customers during the designated time!
Moreover, The Mandarin Cake Shop Pop-up, located on B1 of the Landmark Atrium courtyard and operated by Mandarin Oriental Cake Shop, has drawn inspiration from the exhibition to create a limited-edition Apple Elysium apple tart, with only 20 tarts available daily, offering customers a delightful sensory experience.
